MUSEUM of Hungarian culture goes modern.

The Museum of Hungarian Culture in Slovakia, which researches, documents and presents the country's Hungarian minority heritage, has also enlarged its activities to the local field of fine art to introduce Slovak and Hungarian contemporary artists alike.
Since 2002 it has held exhibitions in the two halls of the museum's main building of Brämar-mansion on Žižkova 18. A year later, the museum galleries have also started to run temporary exhibitions of contemporary art. The first ones were dedicated to Július Bartusz, Ilona Nemeth and Karol Pichler.
In 2004 the museum, together with Csaba Kiss - owner of At Home Gallery, Šamorín - worked out a project to introduce contemporary art to the public. It wants to encourage visitors and young artists to explore new artistic trends in confrontation with foreign artists. The project is organized as series of exhibitions of different artists. An integral part of the project is also a publication documenting the idea and presenting the best works of the individual exhibitions.
The first phase of the project focused on presenting the Hungarian-Slovak cooperation in the field of fine art. Last June introduced two young artists from the 4.ATELIER group - Michal Czinege and Andrea Bartošová, under the leadership of Ivan Csudai. The cooperative spirit continued in September with lithographs of professor Robert Jančovič from Bratislava and Tibor Somorjai Kiss from Budapest. Meanwhile Daniel Matej from Bratislava and Tibor Szemző from Budapest presented a multimedia installation, Cave.
In October, paintings by Emőke Varga and multimedia installation by Patrik Kovačovský - both from Bratislava - were displayed. Erik Šille's and Dávid Baffi's exhibition was another that continued within the project, followed by photos of Gábor Kerekes exhibited within the Month of Photography annual event.
This year, the museum continues with the exhibiting activities. Among the forecasted events there are exhibitions of various projects and outstanding artists:
