MORE than 60 very large and very alive spiders from around the world now reside at the Tihány Manor House in the Radvaň part of Banská Bystrica. Visitors to the Central Slovak Museum, which manages the manor house, can see them until June 29, the SITA news wire reported.The Tarantulas of the World exhibition shows spiders from the Venezuela rain forest that reach the size of a plate, as well as smaller and more colourful kinds from Africa, India and Oceania. Over 200 photographs illustrate the environment of these eight-leged animals.
Visitors will also find scorpions, galley worms and cockroaches at the show, all of which come from the collection of Michal Šesták, from Nitra. The organisers assured SITA the animals are safely closed in glass terrariums.
