The Slovak Uprising gets a new display

THE MUSEUM of the Slovak National Uprising in Banská Bystrica plans to open a new permanent exhibition on August 27 that will display a number of archive materials on the uprising gathered after November 1989 from collections abroad.

The display will contain 3,000 photographs and over 1,000 three-dimensional objects. It will also reveal some of the problematic topics of the second world war that were undiscussed at the time.

Dezider Tóth, the deputy director of the museum, told the TASR news wire that the new exposition is thematically and materially the largest. It presents decisive political, military, and social events from Slovakia's past in the context of European history between 1918 and 1948.
