Dante's peak* - A scientist (Pierce Brosman) paranoid yet fascinated with volcanos saves a small town from an active volcano, which ruins everything in its path. Jerry Maguire* - Show me the money! A sports agent, played wonderfully by Tom Cruise, has moral questions about what is important - money, or family. Though an entertaining film, the portrayal of sports in America today as revolving only around the dollar is depressing. (Jerry Maguire).
Portrait of a lady* - New Zealand's Jane Campion, famous for her three Oscars for The Piano, directed this film based on the classic novel by Henry James. It's an effective psychological drama about a young American, Nicole Kidman, from high society who decides to live in Europe at the end of 19th century (Portrét dámy).
Surviving Picasso*- Director James Ivory and screenplay writer Ruth Prawer Jbabvala (Howard's End, A Room with a View) get together again making another subtle love story.
