Laurel & Hardy* - Take a comedic trip into the past and laugh at the famous bumbling duo in this double feature, which is free. Laurel & Hardy's slapstick style, accentuated by the physical contrast of the rail-like Stan Laurel and the rotund Oliver Hardy, inspired humorous films and skits for decades. Be sure to get there early, as this is a popular student hangout and the gratis admission means the young academics will come in droves. (Laurel a Hardy)

Contact* - Ambitious, relatively spiritual and displaying the characteristic craft of Director Robert Zemeckis (Forest Gump), this 2 1/2-hour take on Carl Sagan's 1985 novel deals with celestial concerns that have little to do with men in black, Bat-folk or Con Air's airborne thugs. Jodie Foster makes contact with intelligent extraterrestrials. As ever, Foster conveys professional drive and vulnerability with the best, but the movie flubs its human angle. (Kontakt)
