As a young bouncy artist in the 1980's, Czech singer Lucie Bílá first found success when she recorded the hit-song "White Trainers". She then successfully transformed her style in the early 90's, maturing into the role of an intelligent, well-respected and strong woman.
In 1999, Bílá was again the recipient of the prestigious 'Best Czech Singer' award. Her new album entitled "Nahá" (Naked) was an instant success among her legions of faithful fans in both the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Singing many of her new and classic pop songs as well as the unforgettable scores she performed for the musical performance of Dracula, Bílá will perform on the PKO stage in Bratislava on February 8.

Modern Art exhibitions
Dorota Sadovská is one of the most talented young Slovak photographers around. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, the 26 year-old will present her stirring photos at two seperate exhibitions this month in Bratislava and in Košice.
The first part of the exhibition, entitled "Album de Paris", features photos taken when she was studying in France, including pictures of one 'tourist' desperate to have his picture taken with local Paris attractions. The second part of the exhibition shows famous Frenchmen such as Daniel Buren and Tony Cragg holding Sadovská's older works in their hands. The exhibition runs from January 28 till February 27 and will be held at the Mirbach Palace, Františkánske námestie 1, Tel.: 54 43 15 56, open daily except Mon., 10-17:00.
Sadovská's Košice exhibition, entitled Dimension S ('S' standing for saint), consists of some 30 new-age paintings depicting various saints in modern art form. The strange theme was enhanced by the artist who placed six of her paintings together to form a cube which was then hung from the ceiling. Presented at Košice's Vojtech Löffler Museum (eastern Slovakia) on Alžbetínska 20, open daily Tues.-Sat., 10-18, Sun. 13-17. The exhibition opened January 13 and runs till February 27.
