On Saturday, June 3, the streets of Bratislava's Old Town will be the source of amusement for both small children as well as the bigger ones. International bands, Slovak artists and children's performances will assure a day full of fun on International Children's Day. The Old Town centre will belong to the kids from the beginning of the day as plenty of attractions will be held, including a LEGO football show and table football matches played in an inflatable stadium on Hviezdoslavovo námestie, starting at 10:00.
At 14:00 participants of the International Water Sprite Festival from all around Slovakia and abroad will gather on the Danube at the Hydrofoil port near the National Museum. At 14:30, the parade will pass Námestie Ľ. Štúra and head to Hlavné námestie.
Entertainment devoted to Day Without Barriers, organised by the Children's Foundation in Slovakia, will begin on Hlavné námestie at 16:00. The event symbolises the removal of barriers between slim and fat, big and small, black and white. Famous Slovak artists, singers and the children themselves will be the main entertainers. Meanwhile, the parade of costumed children will continue on to Františkánske námestie, where awards for the best costumes will be given. Organisers hope the day will go down in history by entering the Guinness Book of World Records for having the highest amount of people dressed in water sprite's costumes at one time.
