The Charity Christmas Bazaar provides a great opportunity for countries to introduce themselves to the Bratislava community. Its visitors can also start holiday shopping and simultaneously support organisations and causes in Slovakia.
Its 29th edition, traditionally organised by the International Women’s Club of Bratislava (IWCB), will take place in Stará Tržnica (Old Market Hall) on SNP Square on Sunday, November 12, from 10:00 until 16:00.
The admission is €4 for adults and €2 for children.
“Culture is the best marketing tool a country has at its disposal,” Eva Staronová, coordinator of the IWCB Christmas Bazaar, said as cited in the press release. “I believe that at our Bazaar, the countries that make up our multicultural mosaic will make full use of this tool and together we will create synergies with each other.”
This event is set to bring together the diverse expat and diplomatic communities residing in Slovakia for a day of festive cheer and goodwill. For companies, schools and non-profit organisations it is an excellent means of promoting their goods and services. But by attending the Charity Christmas Bazaar, visitors can not only enjoy a delightful day out, but contribute to the betterment of lives across Slovakia.
“The IWCB Charity Christmas Bazaar has a rich tradition of making a significant impact on charitable initiatives throughout Slovakia,” says Viera Buchtová, IWCB’s President.
Funds raised during the event are channelled towards a wide range of organisations and causes, such as health care, education, and social support.
The last Bazaar before the Covid-19 pandemic hit, in 2019, was the largest in its history and raised the biggest sum so far: €106,394. During the pandemic, an online charity auction was held instead of the traditional Bazaar.
In the past 28 years, IWCB’s Bazaar has raised over €1.3 million, helping hundreds of charities across Slovakia.
