AMERICAN organ player James David Christie from Boston opened the Trnava Organ Days with his concert on August 17. Now in its ninth year, the festival will run until October 1.
The Trnava Organ Days, as the title suggests, focuses on presenting organ music, but it does not avoid including other instruments in its repertoire. Such is the case with the second chamber concert of the event, to be delivered by a Slovak trio comprised of a cembalist, flutist, and cellist, scheduled for August 22.
The concerts take place every Sunday at 20:00 at the St Mikuláš Cathedral in Trnava. From August 29, visitors can listen to the music by Austrian organist Wolfgang Kreuzhuber, Canadian William O'Meara, and Slovak Anna Zúriková-Predmerská, respectively. September 19 will see a concert by Czech organist David Postránecký and Slovak vocalist Pavol Remenár. Pole Waldemar Kraviec will perform on September 26. The Festival's Brass Ensemble, Tirnavia, accompanied by organists Zuzana Záhradníková from Slovakia and David Di Fiore from America will close the event on October 1.
