Yasuhiro Kawakami, Ambassador of Japan to the Slovak Republic
As the Ambassador of Japan, I would like to express my highest respect and congratulations to The Slovak Spectator for operating the Ukrainian-language website novyny.sk and for providing substantial content. I would also like to extend my deep appreciation to Mr. Ján Pallo, publisher of The Slovak Spectator, and all those involved in the novyny.sk project.
Last year, the Japanese government funded UNESCO’s project “Support for Ukrainian Refugees through Media” in Slovakia. I am pleased to see that Ms. Alina Graffyová, who was a guest speaker at the workshop held under this project, is making significant contributions as editor-in-chief of this Ukrainian-language website.
Together with our international partners, the Japanese government remains determined to provide budgetary, humanitarian, and reconstruction support to Ukraine and its people. I sincerely hope that this website will assist the Ukrainian people, especially those who are forced to live as refugees in Slovakia.
