Dear Readers,
The Slovak Spectator is proud to announce that it just has published the new edition of its popular travel guide, Spectacular Slovakia.

While we have preserved the original concept, we have refined some of its sections of the travel guide and added some new features such as a modern art review, a sport section and a brief guide to Slovakia's weather.

The guide was written by Howard Swains, a former sport, travel and feature writer for The Times of London who is now a freelance journalist based between New York and London. His work has appeared in The New York Sun, The Chicago Tribune, The New York Daily News, Times Online and The Racing Post, among other publications.

Howard travelled through Slovakia between September and December 2007. His articles help the reader to discover those parts of the country that have not been featured in travel guides.

Spectacular Slovakia comes to you in a completely new design thanks to Martin Vančo, Petit Press's art director for magazines. The editorial team was led by Beata Balogová.

We at The Slovak Spectator hope that you will find Spectacular Slovakia a pleasant and valuable introduction to the parts of this small country in the heart of Europe that you have yet to explore.
Spectacular Slovakia 2008 is available at The Slovak Spectator office, the Spectator.sk online shop and at newsstands countrywide.

Our thanks to all our readers, and enjoy!
