100 Roma children from Jarovnice attend summer workshop

One hundred children from Jarovnice, the largest Roma settlement in Slovakia, are participating in a four-day workshop which began on Tuesday, July 6, at the Canyon Hotel in Lipovce.

One hundred children from Jarovnice, the largest Roma settlement in Slovakia, are participating in a four-day workshop which began on Tuesday, July 6, at the Canyon Hotel in Lipovce.

Anna Podlesná, the PR manager of Divé maky, a project which fosters talent among Roma children in Slovakia, said the best and most diligent children will go on a two-week summer academy and will perform at the Roma culture evening (Cigánsky Bašavel) at Červený Kameň castle, where the results of the session and the artistic training will be presented to public, the SITA newswire reported.
