19 percent tax voted liberal deed of year 2003

ADOPTION of the flat 19 percent income tax was voted the liberal act of
2003, according to a report called Liberal Palette 2003 involving members and supporters of the F.A. Hayek Foundation and the civil association Liberal Youth of Slovakia.

Raising pension premiums was marked the most anti-liberal deed, the news wire SITA wrote.

The liberal acts list included the health sector reform and the granting of citizens the proprietary rights to their savings accounts in the pension savings system.

The raise in excise taxes in August and the approval of the treaty on education between Slovakia and the Vatican were selected as anti-liberal acts.
