Altogether 26 political parties filed candidate slates with Slovakia’s Ministry of Interior before midnight December 11. The Central Electoral Commission (ÚVK) will now check all applications and decide on the final list of political parties that will field candidates in the March 10 parliamentary elections before December 31, the TASR newswire reported.
The head of the ÚVK, Lívia Škultétyová, said that there were several administrative mistakes found in the candidate lists, including missing academic degrees or details about candidates’ jobs.
The candidate lists contain 2,971 names. Škultétyová said, adding that only 15 political parties presented complete slates with 150 names.
