€49 million collected in road tolls in Slovakia in January-April

Road tolls collected in Slovakia in the first four months of this year totalled €48.85 million, up by about 1.1 percent, or about €550,000, from the same period last year. In April alone, road tolls raised €13.45 million, an 8.1-percent or €1-million rise on the same month in 2012, said Anton Bódis, a spokesperson for toll company SkyToll, as reported by the SITA newswire on May 15.

Trucks and buses using specified highways and dual carriageways paid €8.88 million in tolls in April, and €32.7 million over the first four months of 2013; and to use selected first category roads they paid €4.55 million in April and €16.07 million between January and April. Transit ticketing raised €360,815 last month and €1.312 million during the first four months of 2013.
