A poll by the Statistical Office found that 70 per cent of respondents would participate in a referendum on Slovakia's EU entry. The ballot must attract at least 50 per cent of voters for its results to be valid.
Parliament on January 21 approved the text of the question for the referendum, which President Rudolf Schuster has promised to call for May 16-17.
