Reaction to Constitutional Court Ruling on Gaulieder:
"Some decisions by the Slovak Constitutional Court may seem rather incomprehensible. Nevertheless, this decision proved that the parliament did not violate Article 81 of the Slovak constitution, which says that, 'The Deputy may give up his parliamentary mandate.' Gaulieder did so through his letter sent to parliament. Constitutional Court judges sometimes determine their powers on their own and they do not respect the rights of institutions that are legally authorized to decide on such matters."
