A train full of fun

THE KOŠICE Children’s Railway organised a series of events for late summer, running from August through early September. The non-profit organisation Košická dets-ká železnica / Košice Children’s Railway lured visitors with a variety of shows, concerts and film screenings, head of the association Ľubomír Lehotský informed the SITA newswire.

THE KOŠICE Children’s Railway organised a series of events for late summer, running from August through early September. The non-profit organisation Košická dets-ká železnica / Košice Children’s Railway lured visitors with a variety of shows, concerts and film screenings, head of the association Ľubomír Lehotský informed the SITA newswire.

The first weekend in August featured the theatrical piece O Paniberkovi, staged at the Alpinka railway station, about the adventures of a tomcat called Paniberk, performed by the EX-KA theatre.

“For each weekend in August, we prepared something interesting: like a meeting of the Club of Young Railwaymen, and the launch of the restored historical caboose of the children’s railway,” Le-hotský said. Moreover, folklore band Ľudová Hudba Jozefa Smotera performed, as well as saxophone player Oliver Dučák.

At the end of August the classic film Železný dědek / Old Iron Man was screened, while on the first Saturday in September attendees got to see the Czech movie Vlak do stanice nebe / Train to Heaven Station, Lehotský said. He concluded that the railway would like to attract not just children, but adults too.
