The government will miss the first deadline of the project it has planned to accelerate highway construction with the assistance of private capital, the Sme daily wrote on September 19.
The Transport Ministry was supposed to announce the first tender for a company to construct some of the planned 150 kilometres of highway through the public-private partnership on September 19.
However, it is still waiting for a Finance Ministry report on whether repayment costs for highways constructed in this way will be included in the general government debt, according to the Euro adoption criteria.
The Finance Ministry was supposed to submit its report to the cabinet on September 12.
