Slovakia's laws on administration fees for submitting visa applications will have to be harmonised with European Union legislation, she said.

As of the day Slovakia joins the Schengen border-free zone, fees for the application forms for granting airport transit visas, transit visas, short-term visas and visas with limited territorial validity will cost €60, plus €1. Applicants will pay Sk5,000 (€147) to apply for a long-term visa, which is also valid as a short-term visa.

The EU sets the individual fees within the framework of all EU countries.
