Agency releases Slovak corporate philanthropist chart

THE BIGGEST corporate supporter of the non-governmental sector in Slovakia last year was Siemens, with donations amounting to Sk12.5 million (€329,000), the SITA news agency wrote.

THE BIGGEST corporate supporter of the non-governmental sector in Slovakia last year was Siemens, with donations amounting to Sk12.5 million (€329,000), the SITA news agency wrote.

The Donor Forum published the first overall survey of corporate donors to non-profit non-governmental organizations in Slovakia, entitled "Top Corporate Philanthropist 2005".

The Dutch Ambassador to Slovakia, Laurent Stokvis, presented prizes to representatives of the awarded companies.

Paper producer SHP Harmanec came second. It gave almost Sk11.5 million (€300,000) in donations, followed by lottery company Tipos with a sum of Sk10 million (€263,000).

The Donor Forum and the economic weekly Trend formed the table of donors based on data from 30 companies that voluntarily divulged their level of donations for 2004.
