The U.S. company Air Products has built a new hydrogen plant in Nováky.

The U.S. company Air Products has built a new hydrogen plant in Nováky.

Graham Rhodes, the company's European Vice-President for the bulk gases division, said that the investment in construction of the new plant in the premises of the Novácke Chemické Závody chemical plant amounted to several millions of U.S. dollars. The company plans to export hydrogen from the Slovak plant to Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic. In Slovakia, Air Products wants to chiefly supply companies involved in the chemical, petrochemical, metallurgical, glass and electrical engineering industries.

At the moment, Air Products supplies Slovakia with a range of products from chemical substances to highly-pure technical gases like argon, nitrogen and oxygen. It operates in 40 countries worldwide and employs over 22,000 people. Its annual turnover is about $10 billion. SITA
