Juraj Ondrejčák, nicknamed Piťo, the alleged boss of the 'Piťovci' organized crime group from Bratislava, has asked to meet with Interior Minister Daniel Lipšic to discuss the murder of well-known lawyer Ernest Valko, the Nový čas daily wrote on Saturday, April 16, as reported by the TASR newswire.
The daily wrote that Ondrejčák wanted to meet Lipšic last week but the minister was on a working trip away from Bratislava at the time.
"A man came to the porter's lodge at the ministry requesting a meeting with the minister. He didn't show an ID card. As he claimed that he has information on cases dealt with by the Office for the Fight Against Organised Crime, an employee of the ministry sent him to that department," said Interior Ministry spokesman Gábor Grendel for TASR.
"Ernest Valko was my friend. I wanted to meet Lipšic because he was his friend as well. I think he may be interested in cracking this case," said Ondrejčák.
Police Corps president Jaroslav Spišiak reported that the police have already questioned Piťo. Valko was shot dead in his house in Limbach near Bratislava last November.
