A LOAD of almost 23,000 kilograms of scrap brass travelling from Slovakia to Poland never arrived at its destination.
A man knocked on the door of a company in Prakovce, in the Gelnica district (Košice Region), pretending to act in the name of a Polish company. He provided an order and freighted the scrap onto a truck, which was supposed to be unloaded by a company in Poland at the end of September. However, the truck never arrived, Košice police spokesperson Jana Mésarová told the SITA newswire. The missing brass was valued at €77,000 and police launched a prosecution with a maximum penalty of three to 10 years in prison.
