Amendment will not harm sole-proprietors

Minister of Labour, Social Affairs and Family Viera Tomanová gave in to the requests of the self-employed and added an extra clause to the draft Labour Code amendment that should allow them to continue working without changing their status or forcing them to become employees.

The Slovak Chamber of Tradesmen expressed their satisfaction with this change and said that those most affected by it would be masons, plumbers and people in the construction industry. Representatives of the Chamber agreed to further cooperation in the legislation’s preparations.

The change will be further discussed at the next tripartite meeting.
