RIGHT-WING parties were unsuccessful in the higher territorial unit (VÚC) elections for eight regional chairmen because they failed to coordinate their proceedings, said political scientist Grigorij Mesežnikov.
"In some regions the right-wing parties even supported opposition candidates," Mesežnikov told daily SME.
According to Mesežnikov, the opposition parties also offered more interesting candidates with more persuasive results.
"The result is that the ruling parties will not have one single head of a VÚC. In some regions selected governmental parties supported the winning candidate but it does not change anything about the fact that the opposition has a stronger position in this part of the regional administration," said Mesežnikov.
