THE NEW Citizen's Alliance (ANO) Regional Council in Prešov does not agree with the practices of ANO leader Pavol Rusko and is against going into opposition, the council announced at its last extraordinary congress on September 16.
"We don't see any reason to go into opposition because of Rusko's mistakes," reads the statement provided to the TASR news agency.
According to ANO representatives from Prešov, at the September 11 Žilina congress statutes were changed in an attempt to liquidate Lintner's platform. Prešov regional council is calling upon ANO members to support Lintner's platform with the aim of pursuing the government manifesto.
The resolution was signed by leaders of ANO district councils from Prešov, Humenné, Poprad, Bardejov, Stropkov, Svidník, Medzilaborce, Stará Ľubovňa, Levoča, Sabinov and Snina.
Prešov's regional council was alone among ANO regional councils not supporting Rusko in August, when he wanted to bring a party motion of no-confidence in Health Minister Rudolf Zajac and Culture Minister František Tóth as well as deputy leaders Ľubomír Lintner and Jirko Malchárek.
