ANO's leaders refuse coalition with SDKÚ

DEPUTY chairman of the New Citizen’s Alliance (ANO) party, Ľubomír Lintner, and its MPs Eva Černá and Jozef Heriban oppose the idea of creating a coalition with the co-ruling Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ) party of Prime Minister Mikuláš Dzurinda before the general election in 2006.

All three ANO representatives think the party can go to the election independently, though it has to stick to its pre-election promises as a liberal party, the news agency TASR wrote.

According to Lintner, the ANO should free itself of the SDKÚ's "domination". Heriban thinks the party should improve the communication among its members, enhance cooperation with citizens, and promote its interests as a liberal party.
