A policeman involved in a road accident that left his passenger with serious injuries on February 9 faces criminal charges after a blood sample showed a blood alcohol content of 3.8 parts per thousand. The policeman, a member of the emergency motorized division, refused a breath test after the crash, for which he was fired by Bratislava district police chief Jozef Fruček. It was the sixth crash this year in which intoxicated police drivers have killed or wounded others.
