The Slovak cabinet passed an anti-discrimination bill without the votes of the Christian Democrats (KDH), who strongly oppose any provisions pertaining to banning discrimination based on sexual orientation, the daily SME wrote.
The actual draft protects women, physically disabled persons, and ethnic minorities from discrimination and bans any discrimination at the work place based on sexual orientation.
Interior Minister Vladimír Palko, a Christian Democrat, voted against the bill, while his party colleagues Justice Minister Daniel Lipšic (KDH) and Education Minister Martin Fronc (KDH) abstained from the voting.
