Interior Minister Ivan Šimko on June 25 selected Anton Kulich as the new chief investigator, a post which he was expected to begin by the end of June. Kulich is deputy director of the Interior Ministry's investigation section, and has been temporarily filling in for former chief investigator Jaroslav Ivor, who was fired by Šimko last month.
Since taking over the post as Interior Minister when Ladislav Pittner stepped down in May, Šimko has made several personnel moves, including sacking the Police Presidium president, the head of the ministry's Inspection Section, and the head of the Economic Crime Unit.
