Arcelor's planned investment is €15 million and it expects to employ 100 people in the initial stage of the project. Another 200 jobs should be created in firms connected to Arcelor's plan. The company wants to process 180,000 tonnes of steel.

The company expects that 30 percent of the production will be placed on the Slovak market and the rest will be exported. In the coming three years Arcelor wants to double its production.

Arcelor's customers include automotive firms and producers of white technology, said the company's vice-president, Claude Charret.
