Archbishop hurt in car accident

One of the country's four top Catholic officials suffered a light concussion of the brain in a car accident.

Archbishop Ján Sokol, of the Bratislava-Trnava archdiocese, collided October 22 with a car that drove in the opposite direction near the western Slovak village of Bucany.

His co-drivers, assistant bishops Štefan Vrablec and Dominik Tóth, suffered serious injuries to their limbs. All men were taken to a local hospital. The police are investigating the crash.
