A COMPUTER parts factory costing €6.63 million is to be set up in eastern Slovakia by Australian company Legend Australasia, the news wire TASR wrote.
Representatives of the company and Slovakia's Economy Ministry signed a memorandum of understanding on the investment in Bratislava on August 23.
The company, which produces computer components for HP, Fuji, and Xerox, wants to start building its plant in eastern Slovakia in the third quarter of 2005 and create about 200 new jobs in 2006, company president Bradley R Dowe told the media.
He added that the plant should produce around 12,000 computer components per day and its planned annual turnover should be between €25 and €50 million, soon becoming a base for the European market.
According to Economy Minister Pavol Rusko, the exact location will be revealed after all legal and administrative steps have been taken; "as soon as all the issues have been settled and finalised with agreements on future contracts... the process is going all right... but we will release the news only when we have the area plan and the permit to start construction," he added.
According to available information, the investor is still deciding between an industrial park in Peres and a site being offered by the city of Prešov.
