IN JUNE twelve artists active in constructive or conceptual art presented their works at an exhibition called Nähre ferne/Closeness and Distance in the gallery of the Slovak Union of Visual Arts in Bratislava. The exhibition, prepared under the baton of curator Peter Lindner, presented works by artists who all, except one, live or lived in Austria, the TASR newswire wrote.
“Austrians travel less to Slovakia than you do to Austria,” said Helmut Wessely, Austrian Ambassador to Slovakia at the opening of the exhibition. “This large exhibition of Austrian artists is a step towards bringing our capitals closer through art.”
