Average nominal salaries grew in nearly all sectors in September
Average nominal salaries in September went up year-on-year in almost all monitored sectors, the Slovak Statistics Office (ŠÚ) announced November 13. Increases were recorded in information and communications activities (by 9.3 percent to €1,760 per month), in car sales and repairs (by 5.9 percent to €776), in industry (4.3 percent to €855), in construction (3.7 percent to €609), in accommodation (2.4 percent to €594), in wholesale (2.3 percent to €768), in transport and warehousing (2.1 percent to €763), in retail (1.1 percent to €565), and in restaurants and pubs (0.8 percent to €366).Conversely, the average nominal salary fell only in the bracket of selected market services, which was down 1.4 percent to stand at €805 per month, the TASR newswire quoted from the ŠÚ. Meanwhile, the average real salary in September increased year-on-year in information and communications activities by 8.2 percent, in sales and repair of motor vehicles by 4.9 percent, in industry by 3.3 percent, in construction by 2.7 percent, in accommodation by 1.4 percent, in wholesale by 1.3 percent, in transport and warehousing by 1.1 percent, and in retail by 0.1 percent. Conversely, it posted reductions in selected market services (by 2.4 percent y-o-y) and in restaurants and pubs (by 0.2 percent y-o-y).
