The average nominal salary, or wage, in October rose in all the monitored fields year-on-year, with the highest increases seen in sales and repairs of motor vehicles and information activities and communications.
While the bracket of sales and repairs of motor vehicles in October recorded a year-on-year hike of 6.8 percent and stood at €797 per month, the average nominal salary in information activities and communications went up 5.9 percent to €1,768 per month, the Slovak Statistics Office (ŠÚ) reported on December 11.
Increases in the other categories were as follows: the average nominal salary in transport and warehousing went up 3.7 percent y-o-y to €765 per month, in industry by 3.4 percent to €877, in accommodation by 3 percent to €584, in the construction sector by 2.1 percent to €631, in wholesale by 2.1 percent to €770, in retail by 1.6 percent to €565, in restaurants and pubs by 0.8 percent to €365 and in selected market services by 0.1 percent to €812 per month, the TASR newswire quoted the ŠÚ.
The average real monthly salary in October rose in sales and repairs of motor vehicles by 6.2 percent y-o-y, in information activities and communications by 5.3 percent, in transport and warehousing by 3.1 percent, in industry by 2.8 percent, in accommodation by 2.4 percent, in construction and in wholesale by 1.5 percent, in retail by 1 percent and in restaurants and pubs by 0.2 percent. At the same time, it shrank by 0.5 percent in the category of selected market services.
When the period of the first ten months of the year is considered, the average nominal remuneration went up by 5.7 percent year-on-year to stand at €784 per month in sales and repairs of motor vehicles, by 3.9 percent to €870 in industry, by 2.8 percent to €1,738 in information activities and communications, by 2.8 percent to €583 in accommodation, by 2.5 percent to €369 in activities of restaurants and pubs, by 2 percent to €819 in selected market services, by 1.7 percent to €765 in wholesale, by 1.5 percent to €748 in transport and warehousing, by 1.3 percent to €563 in retail and by 1 percent to €600 in construction.
The average real salary or wage between January-October 2013 went up in sales and repairs of motor vehicles by 4 percent y-o-y, in industry by 2.3 percent, in accommodation and in information activities and communications by 1.2 percent, in activities of restaurants and pubs by 0.9 percent, in selected market services by 0.4 percent and in wholesale by 0.1 percent. Annual decreases in remuneration were posted for the brackets of construction (lower by 0.6 percent y-o-y), retail (0.3 percent), transport and warehousing by 0.1 percent.
