The average monthly old-age pension in Slovakia amounted to €337.38 in late July. As of that date, approximately 929,300 people received this kind of pension, the SITA newswire wrote. Early retirement pension, received by 54,800 pensioners at the end of July, reached €350.52 on average, according to information provided by the state-run social security provider Sociálna Poisťovňa (SP).
The average disability pension paid by SP to persons with a disability level of up to seventy percent was €175.43, while pensioners with a disability level above seventy percent got €304.17 on average. SP registered over 202,700 recipients of disability pensions at the end of July 2009, according to its published data. Widows’ pension amounted to €208.31 on average. 301,900 widows received this kind of pension. The average amount of widowers’ pension, paid to 34,500 widowers, reached €155.52 in late July. SP paid orphans’ pension of €121.44 on average to 28,800 persons. Pensions in Slovakia went up 6.95 percent at the beginning of this year. They were raised with regard to the year-on-year growth in consumer prices and year-on-year growth in average wages in the first half of 2008.
