The average pension for seniors in Slovakia at the end of last year was €375.9. Compared with the end of 2011, this shows an €13.8 increase. At the end of last month, nearly 980,900 Slovak citizens out of over 5.5 million lived on this type of income.
At the end of December last year, there were 24,400 pensioners receiving early retirement pensions that averaged €374.5 per month, the SITA newswire wrote. This represented a year-on-year increase of €16.9, according to data released by the social security provider Sociálna Poisťovňa.
The average disability pension for persons with a disability rate of up to 70 percent at the end of last year was €189.3, a year-on-year increase of €5.5. Disability pension for people with a disability rate of over 70 percent was €332.5 on average. Compared to 2011, this was a €10.9 increase.
At the end of last year, there were 227,800 recipients of disability pensions. Widows' pensions at the end of last year reached an average of €229.7 per month, which is an annual increase of €7.7. The number of recipients of these pensions was 297,800. The average amount of widowers’ pension, paid to 39,000 widowers, was €175.9. Compared to 2011, this was a €6.3 increase.
