Bank note forgery a mystery

Font size: A - | A +

The central bank has said that an unnamed businessman on May 13 deposited $20,000 at a bank in central Slovakia’s Lučenec, half of which was in forged bank notes.

While Roman Václavik, shadow economy minister for the Smer party, has said it wasn’t him, he has admitted depositing over $10,000 at the bank in question on the same day, and yesterday appeared at a police station in Lučenec to give an explanation. A local police inspector has said Václavik will be formally interrogated within days.
