A VISITING Bavaria official praised Slovakia on Thursday for the significant progress it had made since its formation in 1993, the news wire TASR reported.
"Slovakia has become a central European tiger that moved out of eastern Asia to become our close neighbour. We view that tiger as a very attractive and amicable creature with which we, indeed, wish to get along well and cooperate," said Bavarian interior minister Guenter Beckstein in talks with his counterpart Vladimir Palko, who initiated the visit.
The country, according to Beckstein, was quickly approaching European Union standards in the economic, internal security, and police fields.
