Tatiana Behrová has quit her post as a deputy chair of the Public Procurement Office (ÚVO) after three and half months, saying she did not come under pressure to do so. The government should decide on her resignation at its Wednesday session, the SITA newswire reported.
“I will not comment on the reasons,” said Behrová, as quoted by SITA, when asked whether she was leaving the post because of quarrels within the management of ÚVO.
Behrová was appointed to the post on July 17 as an independent expert, saying she planned to pass significant changes to the public procurement rules to make them more transparent. But shortly after taking up her job she received a threatening letter containing a bullet. Behrová said that since then she has not received any more such letters. Though she submitted a criminal motion to police, nobody has yet informed her about the results of the investigation, she added.
