Benefit concert held for victims of Ukraine crisis in Bratislava

A BENEFIT concert for Ukraine that took place on March 9 at Moyzes Hall of Comenius University in Bratislava represented an expression of solidarity with victims of the violent clashes during the anti-government protests and the subsequent crisis.

A total of €600 was collected in a fundraiser and will be sent to the account of the SOS Ukraine project, organised by civic association Clovek v Ohrozeni (Human Beings in Danger), the TASR newswire reported.

Vitaliy Usatyi, advisor to the Ukrainian Embassy to Slovakia, attended the event, and said: "I'm very happy to see that Ukraine has such good friends in Slovakia".

Among the guests were Irish Ambassador to Slovakia Anne-Marie Callan, Polish Ambassador Tomasz Chlon, Georgian Ambassador Alexander Nalbandov, US Embassy representative Norman Thatcher Scharpf, Norwegian Ambassador Inga Magistad, Lin-Chiu Hung of Taipei Representative Office, Slovak Institute for Public Affairs president Grigorij Mesežnikov and others.
The concert was organised under the auspices of Ordinary People and Independent Personalities MP Jozef Viskupič.
