Some 60 school children from Beslan who survived the terrorist attack on September 1, 2004 are on a two-week holiday in Ružomberok, Stanislav Hudec of Eco-Invest said on August 13.
Slovak Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Minister Tomanová and Russian Ambassador to Slovakia Alexander Ivanovič Udalcov visited the children's camp on that day.
The camp is the result of an agreement between Eco-Invest president Milan Filo and Russian Railways president Vladimir Ivanovič Yakunin. A similar camp was created in the same period in the Kratovo recreation settlement near Moscow for the children from orphanages in Ružomberok, Istebné, and Liptovský Hrádok. The children are staying in the Hrabovo Hotel.
Both camps' programs feature sports, as well as cultural and educational events.
"The children are having a unique opportunity to get to know a foreign country, its customs and culture," Hudec said.
