People in Slovakia should prepare for extreme heat, which may be accompanied by thunderstorms, on July 1.
The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) issued a second-level warning against heat for most districts in western Slovakia and two southwestern districts of Banská Bystrica Region, where temperatures may climb to 35-37 degrees Celsius between 14:00 and 17:00. The first-level warning with temperatures rising to 33-34 degrees Celsius is in place for the rest of the country for the afternoon.
Meteorologists have also warned against thunderstorms that may occur across the whole country between 14:00 and 23:00.
