THE BIDDERS for 66-percent stakes in two Slovak airports –Bratislava and Košice - must submit their proposals by December 5, the TASR news agency reported.
Before the envelopes with the final proposals are opened, the privatization committee will consider whether the TwoOne consortium, which is made up of the Penta Group and two Austrian companies (Flughafen Wien AG and Raiffeisen Zentralbank), has broken the rules.
The problem arose because A-Way (part of the Vinci consortium that has pulled out of the tender over the affair) was shown to have links with Raiffeisen Zentralbank and TwoOne.
At the moment, four bidders are still in the running for both tenders. Apart from TwoOne, two other consortiums are taking part. One is made up of Abertis Infrastructuras S.A., TBI Plc. (Great Britain) and J&T Finance Group (Slovakia).
Another consortium was formed by four companies - CGN (Cologne-Bonn Airport), ACV, Fond Galaxy and building company SNC Lavalin International.
The fourth bidder is a company called TAV - Tepe Akfen Ventures (Turkey), which is acting alone.
According to Transport Ministry spokesman Tomáš Šarluška, if all goes well and no further complications arise, the winner of the tender should be announced by the end of 2005.
