THE ECONOMIST weekly recently produced the Big Mac index, a new comparison of prices in various states of the world.
According to new figures, a Big Mac in Slovakia is 26 percent cheaper than in the US. In Slovakia the hamburger costs Sk66, which is about $2 as opposed to the US price of $2.8.
But while the Big Mac may be cheaper in Slovakia than in the US and in other western European states, it is more expensive than in Poland and Russia.
