POLICE officers of the National Criminal Agency have discovered one of the largest laboratories for the production of drugs in Central Europe in the recreational area of Zemplínska Šírava in the east of Slovakia.
It took 80 officers 25 hours to document evidence and liquidate the facility, the SITA newswire reported. Drugs along with equipment were transported for expert assessment on three trucks. No one has been charged yet in this case.
This indoor laboratory for the production of marijuana was in one of the buildings in the local
recreational area, said Police Presidium spokesman Michal Slivka. In addition to dried marijuana, police also seized five assault rifles of various brands, laboratory equipment such as fans, air conditioning, special lighting and accessories, heaters, fertilizers and
chemicals, along with other components. Evidence is now in the hands of experts. Those convicted in this case can expect prison terms of 10 to 15 years.
