Prievidza : A powerful bomb explosion blew out the ground floor windows of a local lawyer's office on Námestie Slobody in Prievidza at 13:50 on September 16. The lawyer, identified by the police only as V.L., has refused to comment until the police finish their investigation. No arrests have been made.
The explosion caused around 100,000 crowns worth of damage to the office, said Magda Krasulová, Trenčín regional police office spokeswoman. The blast also caused 12,000 crowns of damage to a nearby block of flats, she added. No injuries were reported.
Bombs and explosions are not unkonwn in Slovakia. In July, 1999, for example, police found 800 grams of TNT in a Trnava Billa warehouse hidden in a washing powder shipment. The explosive could have destroyed the entire building.
