BOOKMAKERS are favouring independent candidate Andrej Kiska to defeat Prime Minister Robert Fico in the run-off election scheduled for March 29.
The Niké betting office set the bet for Kiska at 1.4, while for Fico it is 2.9. This means that if someone bet €10 on Kiska, he or she would win €14. Those betting on Fico would get €29, the SITA newswire reported on March 17.
Other betting offices, like Fortuna and Victory Tip, are offering similar bets: 1.5 and 1.45, respectively, on Kiska, and 2.6 and 2.8, respectively, on Fico, as reported by SITA.
People can also bet on voter turnout. People betting on more than 52 percent can win twice their bet, while those expecting lower turnout might win 1.6 times their bet, the Sme daily wrote.
